My Approach
As a Licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Washington and a professionally trained Art Therapist I am trained to provide services to individuals ages 8 years old to adult who struggle with the following concerns: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, sexual abuse, trauma, body oppression and eating issues, relationship problems, grief and loss, and parenting concerns. I have received specialized training to provide affirmative mental health care to transgender individuals.

My practice is informed by Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, Kristen Neff’s work on Self Compassion, Feminist Therapy and Relational Theory. I utilize a variety of art interventions as well as SandTray work. I hold a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
In my work, I strive to create a therapeutic connection with each client that is unique to their needs. The wisdom to heal lies within each individual. My role as a healing professional is to assist each client in deepening their understanding of their own story and internal experience. As a therapist I seek to support the journey inward by acting as a companion in my client’s work to find relief from suffering.
In order to create an equitable and accessible environment that is open and inclusive, I strive to understand and develop awareness of issues related but not limited to, race, ethnicity, culture, age, body size, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ability, national origin, veteran status, social economic class, religion, and professional status. I understand that to practice within a paradigm that strives to be equitable and inclusive I must engage in an active process of learning as well as unlearning, which requires me to take action towards challenging and dismantling systemic oppression through a variety of means, including examining my own biases and striving to understand my positions of privilege as well as my perceived authority in the counseling relationship.
