Art
Therapy

I hold a Master's Degree in Art Therapy from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Art can be a powerful healing tool.  Art materials are always available in my space and clients are welcome to engage with art at anytime. 

 

Here are some ways Art Therapy can help:

  • Non-Verbal art expression can deepen the verbal therapy process.

  • Art making can relieve stress and anxiety and has been shown to reduce heart rate and respiration and lower cortisol levels. 

  • Creating art is non-linear process; you can express many issues/challenges/conflicts at the same time and resolve them using imagery.

  • Art making can help process feelings that you may not yet have words to express.

 

Creating art will happen as much or as little as works for you. It is your process.
